Herbie The Seed, and The Seed Viewer

Keith Wheller and Pamela Scharaga would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make the youth gardening program a success in 2007: Kathy Barth, Kris Burns, Margie McDonald, Michael McFadden, Patty Stuart, and Angela Wade, Cathy Carroll for teaching how to write a press release, and especially Glen Koch who without his delightful spark and talent it just wouldn’t be the same, and of course Dana Purnell, former Co-Chair, who gave us such a good start.

We visited eight second grade classrooms this year in Jefferson County.  The children in the first class at Chimacum Creek told Glen Koch (of Herbie the Seed fame), he should be on American Idol and that he would definitely make the Top Five!

We had a lot of fun in the classrooms and working with each other and we hope to have more volunteers next year.  If you don't want to stand up in front of the classroom, you should know that there are many ways to help "behind the scenes.".

For more information, call Pamela Scharaga at 379-6772.
